Tired, lethargic, unmotivated, unhappy and always sick that was me not very long ago. A busy life with 3 children and a full time job left me with no time to exercise
or so I thought. This combined with my poor eating habits, fairly heavy drinking and evenings spent sitting on the couch in front of the TV led to an enormous weight gain over a few years. I hardly recognised the person who looked back at me from the mirror. I tried various diets, but couldnt seem to stick to anything for long. It was only after a year of constant illness, including 2 stays in hospital, that I realised I needed to do something different. I took a deep breath, joined a gym and came up with my own meal plan, and started to see some results, but progress was slow.
Then I came across Debbie Rossis photos in a magazine, which led me to the Body for Life website. I was a bit sceptical about the transformations surely all those photos werent real? I bought the book anyway, read it in one night and decided to give it a go. I was absolutely blown away with the results, and resolved to do a second challenge straight away. After 24 weeks non-stop, I could hardly recognise myself. I was energetic, motivated and happy. I learned so much about myself and what Im capable of, have gained confidence and self-respect, and Ive found that my challenge success has spilled over into the rest of my life.
The icing on my BFL cake was being chosen as a 2004 Body for Life Australian Category Champion.
Take the Challenge, believe in yourself, and you will never look back.
