Dear friends, If there is one thing I would like everyone to say
and believe in, it would be this one simple phase... "Prepare
for success".
How many of you have started the new year with at least 5 new resolutions
and unrealistic goals, only to already have failed at least half
of them, if not all of them. We immediately adopt the mindset of
"gosh, I've blown it already, and the months not even out"..
we already determine our failure instead of setting our goals and
achieving the challenge. I know I have been guilty of it. I must
of tried to stop smoking at least on 6 New year days in a row, and
I cant begin to tell you of how many diets I started on the 1st
of January. Goal setting can be easy enough, it's achieving those
goals that is the challenge. When setting goals, break them down
into steps that you know you can achieve that way you set yourself
up for SUCCESS at every step of the journey. Instead of saying I
want to lose 10 kilos in 4 months, lets say, I'm going to lose 2.5kgs
in ONE month, and I will achieve this by, going to the gym 3 days
a week, and by packing my lunch from home, I will buy myself new
running shoes that I have been talking about, and I will enrol into
a yoga class. I WILL ACHIEVE my goal.. I AM GEARED FOR SUCCESS...
I AM READY TO MAKE THIS YEAR A YEAR OF CHANGE. Follow through on
your goals, and lets make this year, YOUR year. GOOD LUCK.

Well,
what a month December was. Firstly we had a very special visit from
Body for Life Champions Rosa Henry Grand Master Champion and Tani
Tonga, 2nd runner up champion from the COOK ISLANDS. Joe Caruso who
was also a Top Ten Australian Finalist made the trip to Sydney and
for a very special workout down at my local gym, Fitness First in
Dee Why. Again I found myself in the uncomfortable position when challenged
with the weights.. I must try to remind these champions that there
is nothing wrong with lifting a reasonable weight. HA.. Rosa, is one
incredibly strong Champion and well and truly proved her worth, leg
pressing 200KGs for 10 REPS. She later informed me that she can easily
get up to 350KGS.. WOW ROSA, lucky Im not living in the Cook Islands.
Tani likewise is one lady who is very worthy of her crown, and the
highlight for me was watching these guys running on the treadmill,
their first time ever using this. That was the first time I have ever
seen anyone take such pleasure and joy in doing their cardio. Just
check out their huge smiles. Was such a great day, and as always,
these days just go far to quickly. I look forward to one day, travelling
to their island home to visit their gym and to doing BFL, island style.
Special thanks to Joe also and his beautiful family, I really love
spending time with this very giving, loving family..I hope to see
you guys soon in Melbourne. Thankyou for your inspiration. You guys
are blessed by GOD.

Some
people dream of success, while others wake up and work hard at it.
While on the subject of quotes, I also find a lot of inspiration in
music. It is from music where I found the name of my business.. DESIRE.
(guess which bands sing it ??). Another artist Im enjoying listening
to is the Christina Augurelia CD, Stripped. You can often find me driving
around the northern beaches with my head out the window singing along.
One of my favourite tracks is"keep on singing my song" It
is a song full of positive strong sentances. Whatever it is that inspires
you, find and use it daily.

My
very special friend this month, is one of my clients, BETH HULL.
Beth just has to be one of those special people that inspires me,
everytime we get to train together. Beth has been with me for two
months now, and her energy and enthusiasm for life just knocks me
out. She has more of a social life than I DO.. She actively pursues
sport and plays tennis, basketball, dance and participates in Gymnastics
where she currently represents Australia in the Special Olympic's
winning THREE gold medals and a SILVER in the last meet held in
Brisbane last month. Beth has competed in 9 N.S.W. State Championships
and has won 9. She loves all sports and always gives her best at
anything she does. Beth fully embraces life and her positive outlook
and happy disposition means that every workout, we work 100%. We
do running, skipping, balance work, strength work, and Beths favourite,
Boxing.
