Hello and welcome to my newsletter. Well, its a big issue this month, so sit back relax and clear your mind because by the time you finish reading this newsletter you should be ready to jump out of your skin and make clear positive changes starting STRAIGHT AWAY.

I had a client recently come up to me and say "Deb, I've been training now for 6 months solid, I eat right, I train right, but something is wrong.. its just not possible". (notice the negatives in this sentance)

 

Do you sometimes feel like this? Do you sometimes catch yourself saying this when you look at the mirror?. If you do, then I want you to STOP right now. EVERYDAY, try to say positive affirmations, not negative ones. Do you think I wake up in the morning and look at myself in the mirror and say.. "oh crap, I feel like @$#%, think I'll go back to bed". Hell no. I wake up every morning and say, "Today is the start of a great new day", and more often than not, I end up having a great day, because I constantly use positive affirmations. Listen... whatever success had been achieved by anyone else in the world is available to you too. Dont ANY of you think for one second that you are not capable of greatness in this world. We are all able to achieve whatever we put our minds too. EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE.

s So the next time your hear about someone doing something that excites you or inspires you, something that you really want to do yourself dont think "I wonder how on earth that was possible?" Ask yourself a better question: "What would I have to do or change to make that happen for me?" When I was doing my challenge I was constantly focusing on reasons to continue on, and never about giving up. I never EVER thought it wasnt working out, and I always believed in myself that IT WAS POSSIBLE. Understand what it will take to get to where you want to go, and start to believe that you WILL get there. Review your goals daily, write a list of what you are doing now that is blocking your path, make notes of what you admire in others and want to achieve for yourself, and dont focus on how wild or crazy it is... dont think that its impossible to get lean firm muscles, or tight strong abs.. impossible is a word no longer in your vocabulary. Remember, the moment you start to believe, is the very second that things become ACHIEVEABLE. And if you dont believe me, then just read on about my friend Gloria.

Preparation time : 20 minutes
Cooking time : 30 minutes

Ingredients
1 cup fresh or frozen peas, shelled
2 1/2 cups low sodium chicken broth
1 1/2 teaspoons olive oil
1/3 cup diced onions
salt to taste
freshly ground black pepper
2/3 cup Arborio rice
1 clove minced garlic
1/3 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon finely grated lemon zest
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
1/4 pound thinly sliced prosciutto, cut into thin strips (Yummy... )

1. Cook the peas in a large pot of salted water until they are just tender, about 5 minutes for fresh and 2 minutes for frozen peas. Drain and set aside.

2. Heat the chicken broth in a small saucepan and keep it warm over low heat.

3. In a large sauce pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion, season with salt and pepper and cook until the onion is transculent, about 5 minutes.

4. Add the rice and garlic, stir to combine and cook for 1 minute.

5. Turn the heat to low, add about 3/4 cup of the hot broth and stir slowly until the broth is absorbed. Continue to add the hot broth about 3/4 cup at a time, occasionally stirring slowly, letting the rice absorb the broth before adding more.

6. The rice is cooked when it is creamy on the outside and just al dente in the center, about 20 to 25 minutes total. Stir in half of the peas, half of the Parmesan, the lemon zest and a few twists of freshly cracked black pepper.

7. Just before serving, stir in the lemon juice. Divide the risotto among 4 warm serving bowls. Top each serving with strips of prosciutto, the remaining peas and remaining Parmesan.

Per serve (one small bowl) will yield 285 calories 6g of fat 37gms of carbs and 18 gms of protein


That carrots are actually a member of the parsley family.. (hence the fine leafy tops) Carrots are an excellent source of vitamin A as well as Vitamin C, dietary fibre and also have the highest level of beta carotene of any vegetable. In addition, they are low in salt and fat free.


The humble ant can lift 50 times its own weight and can pull 30 times its own weight... wow try working this out to your body weight. For me this would equate to lifting 3,400 kilos and pulling 2,040 kilos. HOLEY MOLEY.

Hi my name is Gloria, and I am in my 6th challenge and I have lost 190 lbs so far followng BFL, and I just thought I would take a minute to say if there is anyone out there who has a large amount of weight to lose and even slightly considers the feat impossible..IT'S NOT. You can do it. I still have about 40 to go, and I will get it off, it just takes time. I have tried everything under the sun to lose weight and this is the first time that it is a healthy and logical way. I was in a very miserable awful state when I started BFL, infact I didn't even want to start it. It took my g/f bugging me and bugging me, and finally I got so peeved that I told her I would give it one day just to get her off my back, well one day turned into now ..I am in my 6th challenge and 190 lbs lighter.

I reflect back and I remember thinking there is no freaking way I can lose 50 lbs, or 100 lbs, much less 150 lbs, god forbid 200!!!lbs, but look at me now..10 more lbs and I will have hit that 200 lbs lost mark...Something I would have considered absurd even a yr and a half ago. I would have told someone to go take a hike if they had tried telling me I could actually do it. I had myself in such a depressed rut that I literally thought there was no way out. I was eating my way to my death. I was crying all the time for absolutely no reason, I ate all the dang time, and I had a bad back problem as a result of a surgery, so bad that my children even had to help me dress, how freakin humiliating...there were times I had to actually crawl I couldnt' even walk...and here a few weeks ago I actually jogged 7.5 miles with my son!!!!!


What I am trying to say is that I understand every feeling, every frustration that a person has when they have a lot of weight to lose and I would like to help so if you want please feel free to either post here or email me at shinyglo569@aol.com and I would be more than happy to do whatever I can to help. Even if it is to listen. I want others to realize that it is possible. We can do this, we can fullfill dreams, set goals, and be who we want to be, and live healthy happy lives. I don't ever want to be that sad, lonely, miserable person again, and I want to help anyone that wants help.
