Hey everyone, and welcome to the last Desire Fitness newsletter for 2004. Wow, huh.. can you believe it. It’s the end of the year already. How many times are we going to hear that this month I wonder? I’ve been guilty of it, and I know heaps of people come up to me and say, “where did the time go?”

As we all reach the end of this year long journey I hope that this newsletter has inspired, educated and helped people to not only change their lives, but to embrace life. You would’ve learnt that losing weight and being healthy is an ongoing process, and not something that can be achieved with a quick fix weight loss solution that is totally unsustainable. Who wants to lose weight for 3 weeks. Would’nt you rather lose weight and be healthy for a life time.. that’s right.. for the rest of your life.


Together we are slowly reversing the habits of a lifetime, and learning and educating ourselves about how OUR bodies work. Listen to your body, learn to love it and respect it. Your moods should no longer be held hostage by a kilo gained over a week, rather you should remind yourself of the progress you have made and continue on with your new healthy lifestyle and don’t look back or ever give up. You should know by now to never miss breakfast or go more than four hours without refueling your body. You should manage to make daily exercise a priority even if it’s just a stroll because exercise doesn’t just keep you slim, it keeps your mind and soul in shape too. Exercise actually gives you energy, and makes you productive, happier and makes time for you to get more things done in the day. More than anything, sticking to a plan that works, and seeing and feeling the results allows you to realize that its ok to put yourself and your health first, and don’t we all feel fabulous for that.

So as we begin 2005 don’t let this New Year or opportunities in this New Year slip by you. Grab the bull by the horns, make those resolutions a reality and begin the New Year with excitement, energy and expectations of a great 2005. Don’t get to the end of it and say…’Wow, where did that year go?”. Lets get to the end of it and say “WOW.. look at all the stuff I did.. I wonder what I can do next”

This recipe serves: 2
Preparation time : 10 minutes

Ingredients
1 1/2 cups strawberries, washed, hulled and sliced
1/4 cup sugar, or to taste
4 scoops vanilla non-fat frozen yogurt
2 teaspoons walnuts, chopped
2 teaspoons semisweet chocolate shavings or sprinkles
1/2 cup cider vinegar
1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
1/2 cup apple cider

Cooking Instructions

1. In a small bowl, sprinkle the sliced strawberries with sugar.
2. Puree half of the strawberries in a food processor to make a strawberry sauce. Reserve the sauce and the remaining sliced strawberries in the refrigerator until ready to use.
3. Pour a few teaspoons of strawberry sauce into the bottom of each sundae glass. Add a scoop of frozen yogurt to each and drizzle with more strawberry sauce. Add another scoop of frozen yogurt and top with the remaining sauce and sliced strawberries.
4. Decorate each sundae with nuts and chocolate shavings.

Awesome after a traditional Christmas lunch… relax and enjoy….
