If you are like the many who have made their lists of things to achieve, then I’m hoping that YOUR happiness is on the top of the list. How do we achieve true happiness? Why does it elude some of us?. Look around and have some insight into some of the people you know who appear to be truly happy. More often than not, they all have one thing in common and it’s PEACE. Peace within themselves. These people attain that because they are HONEST with themselves. They write goals, and lists of things to achieve, and then they go out and do them. They do not over reach or set themselves up for failure by writing goals that are beyond belief. They write goals that they know they can achieve with a little dedication and honest commitment.


Be the Exception to the Rule
Just for today I challenge all of you to be the exception to the rule. Take control of your life. Don’t oversleep. Don’t give in to temptation. Don’t whine and complain. Don’t worry about things that are out of your control. Jump out of bed. Plan your workouts, plan your meals and follow through with both. Feed yourself only positive and uplifting thoughts. Be kind to others. Speak well of others.
Be the best you can be and do it with a smile.

When we don’t want to do something, it is often because we are really, deep down inside, afraid to do it. And, that fear can be completely irrational. Recognize that fear and then begin to deal with it by doing feared things first. Doing feared things first is an opportunity to build inner strength and tenacity. You’ll experience satisfaction when it is completed and the positive energy you’ll experience will propel you forward throughout the entire day. The more you face those feared things and conquer them by doing them first, the more your self-discipline will grow and your inner strength will lead the way towards the new you that you are desiring to build. Before doing my own challenge I put this simple rule to the test. I have always had a fear of the water, and I’m not a strong swimmer at all. So the one fear I set out to conquer was to obtain my scuba divers certificate and swim in the ocean. Well, you know, typically it’s a weekend course, but because of my fear, it took me about 6 weeks to complete it. But BOY did it feel good when I finally achieved my goal. THAT one achievement inspired ME to continue on many things that before I thought was impossible to achieve including sticking to a workout plan to achieve my Body for Life. So have a good hard honest look at yourself, think of one thing that makes you happy, (think back to your childhood, the things you did that brought TRUE joy) and make a promise to yourself, that you will make the time to DO IT.

 


There’s nothing easier for that mid morning or afternoon snack like a smoothie. Add a scoop of protein powder and some LSA and you have a complete meal. ENJOY.

Ingredients
1/4 cup orange juice
1/2 cup plain, low-fat yogurt
1/6 cup washed, stemmed raspberries
1/6 cup washed, stemmed blackberries
1/6 cup washed, stemmed blueberries
honey to taste

1. Place all the ingredients in a blender. Blend on high speed until smooth.

Ingredients
