So much of how we look on the outside is tied up with what goes into our bodies. It makes sense that if you fill up with a balanced diet of healthy, unprocessed foods and minimal amounts of fat, your body will work at its optimum capacity.

Although it’s a cliché, the analogy is true: your body is like a car, if you don’t fill it with the right fuel, it will not run smoothly and will eventually break down. To ensure that your body performs at its best you need a balanced diet of fresh fruit and vegetables, fish, lean meat and chicken, wholegrain cereals, eggs, nuts and dairy foods. Steer clear of processed foods, refined sugars and saturated fats as they clog up your system and hamper the body’s ability to cleanse itself. The positive results will show in your skin, your waistline, your energy levels and the reduction of things like water retention and cellulite.

So how, in a fast-paced society where fast food is the norm, is it possible to make healthy eating a part of our lives? The answer is to make nutritious food the norm instead. And just because it’s good for you doesn’t mean it has to be bland and boring. It’s all about the combination and presentation of the foods we choose, plus arming yourself with a few fabulous recipes. As Bill Phillips says “failing to plan is a plan for failure”. Pack a lunch box, remove temptation, and stick to your new regime today.

I have a little extra addition to my family, and to the Desire Fitness studio. Bella Rossi was born on Christmas Eve 2004 and has been living in our home now for the two past month. She is very cheeky mischievous English Staffy who loves socks, and chasing my mop. She will be a terrific addition to the Desire Studio’s as she grows and gets stronger and she will be accompanying some of my clients in their runs.

So, now that I have Bella, I have been looking around for some nice Doggie things to do. I wanted to share with you an awesome place that is doggie friendly.

To explain a little about the” Echo on the Marina” I would have to say that it is very rare in that it is an absolute waterfront cafe that is both Children & Dog friendly , with their only rule being dogs must be on a leed and can not be barkers.

Our back gate is at "Echo Point Park" also pooch friendly complete with it's own small beach and swim spot as well. Included in their new dining area is also a Toddlers secure Play area with soft fall matt & toys for the little ones, as for the above 4 year olds we have plenty of pet bream (fish) that now hang out at the wharf that they can feed endlessly the kids love it. And we also have a children’s menu available.

Echo point park backs onto the Garigal National Park that has a Track that you can either bush walk or mountain bike ride that takes you all the way to East Lindfield or Visa versa and end up at Echo on the Marina for a coffee or a delicious meal.

They are open from 8am until 4pm 5 days a week from Wednesday to Sunday for breakfast and lunch, and are also open on public holiday Mondays and is fully BYO .

However the location can be very hard to find, as it is down from the car park and or road by about 80 stairs but there is an inclinator that can be accessed by prior phone arrangement.

The simplest way to arrive is really by boat just call to book and let us know that you’ll be arriving by boat and we will find you a berth , we also have a lot of canoes arriving for breakfast from the spit each day it is a great way too build up an appetite!

You can also park at Echo point park which is the car park at the lower end of Babbage road and enjoy a casual stroll down a meandering path which leads you to “Echo on the Marina”. Sharon and Peter have pulled no shortcuts in order to set out and create a lovely casual style family Restaurant /cafe .

I do hope this will make you curious enough to come down and see for yourself, for bookings call Sharon or Peter on 94174422. I’ll be there very soon with my cute little Bella in tow.

There are two key principles you should apply in your Body for life Challenge . First you have to know what to do. Second you must do what you know

Kate Cleary is a delightful and fun client of mine, and I wanted to share with you her story. You see, Kate has a special goal, and incredible moment in time which she decided in January to make her primary focus with her training, her 21st Birthday bash which was held during Easter.

As fate would have it, in the first week of her training, Kate suffered a terrible injury to her ankle. At first, doctors were confused if there was a break or a strain, x-rays and ultrasounds were taken, as well as time of work, trips to doctors, and a lump at the end of her leg that resembled a creature from outer space.

You know.. Its enough to put anyone of their training. Normally most people would fall into a pit of depression, in the past Kate would traditionally find comfort in food.

However to her credit, Kate continued on and refused to give in. She remained as positive as possible, as determined as she can be given the circumstances, and vowed to NOT give up even when her doctor suggested she do so. With a lot of improvising, Kate continued with her programme and did not miss ONE day of training since she tore one her ligaments. Well, her birthday came round, and while we didn’t quite achieve our goal, we sure did achieve more than we realized.

We realized that Kate had a tremendous attitude to her exercise, that she had a real strength and courage, and that she was determined more than ever to make exercise, health and fitness a part of her life. She was frustrated sure, but for every frustrated emotion, it was closely followed by a fierce determination to see it thru. We are still on the journey, we are still learning and we are still training with determination and desire. Kate… I love ya babe, you are one tough cookie… KEEP it up.

Well, thought I would do something different here and write a little bit about me and what I’m up too and some of things that I do all the time.
I start most days with warm water and ½ lemon juice and about 20 pushups.. yes.. Im still doing them.
When I have a shower, I always finish off with baby oil. I find this keeps my body soft and moisturized for the whole day.
I drink dandelion tea instead of tea or coffee.
I always have protein with my meals, either in the form of beans, nuts, dairy or lean cuts of meat.
Hanging to see “house of flying daggers” and “million dollar baby”.. I’ll get there.
I’m reading, “meditations for the road warrior” by mark Sanborn and Terry Paulson
Addicted to desperate housewives.. not that IM one.. Im very happy and content with where my life is now.
And Im listening to Blink 182’s CD.

Hmmm… my birthday was on the 22nd of this month. I turned 39 years old. Do I feel older ?.. not on your life..

Life is fine, great and what you make of it. So before you go to bed tonight.. have a good long look in the mirror, ask yourself

“Who do I want to be tomorrow” and then BE that person. Oh.. and just to show you the person who I used to be, have a look here.
