Hello friends.

Quite often I get faced time and time again from some people who really really want it to happen but it just doesn’t happen. What makes a programme fall apart? What happens that means we don’t get to where we need to be with our health and fitness goals and what can we do so that the next time we give it a go, we go and get it.

Well the first thing is you need to identify the “culprits”.. you know the reasons why things fell apart. With that in mind here are the top 6 diet destructors. Do you recognize any of these in your life.

Number ONE.. The top one.. NOT HAVING A PLAN. Hoping that you’ll reach your healthy eating goals by luck alone just doesn’t cut it. Quite often you arrive at the gym and spend time chatting to someone or walking around aimlessly wondering what to do next. WRITE a plan and stick to it.

Number TWO .. Feeling deprived. Giving in to your cravings when next at a party by devouring the whole table of party snacks is not doing you or your body any good. Plan rewards into your lifestyle and enjoy guilt free snacking by promising you’ll make up for it at the next workout with a bigger effort achieving those ten’s.

Number THREE … Peer pressure. Going along with your girlfriends yen for nachos grande and a pitcher of margaritas may seem like the sociable thing to do, but its not a smart choice if your trying to maintain a healthy weight. Always look for the healthiest choice in food

Number FOUR.. Fatigue. Being tired means you’re more likely to grab whatever foods are easily available and often that leads to more poor choices than good. Keep healthy snacks available for when you're on the run and make sure you get 8 hours sleep to rest and recover.

Number FIVE.. Gluttony. The urge to gorge on everything that looks tasty can be downright dangerous and may even lead to an eating disorder. Learn to know when you are full and stop eating.

Number SIX… “Stuck” syndrome. Ever feel like you’re trapped in a meeting, on a plane or even at a social gathering. Classic example is a party cruise where you know NO ONE and your counting down the seconds before you get back to the jetty. Boredom and desperation can lead you to give up on your diet and eat whatever’s in reach. If you feel this “stuck” syndrome coming on, either learn to avoid these situations or be prepared.

REMEMBER its YOUR choice. Its YOUR body and you can TAKE CHARGE. Don’t give away control and don’t fall into the above traps. Now that we’ve talked about them Im sure you will look out for them when next you are thinking about your health and fitness goals.

For the chicken:
2 teaspoons olive oil
4 small skinless, boneless chicken breasts, about 3-4 ounces each
salt to taste
freshly ground black pepper

For the wraps:
1/2 cup fat-free, whipped cream cheese
2 tablespoons minced scallions
1 tablespoon diced chili peppers
1 tablespoon freshly chopped cilantro
1/2 large avocado, sliced into 4 strips
4 large flour tortillas
4 large slices of tomato, sliced thin

Cooking instructions
For the chicken:
1. Preheat the grill to medium-high.
2. Brush the chicken breasts with olive oil and then season with salt and pepper. Cook them on the grill, about 4-5 minutes per side, depending on the thickness of the breast. Transfer the chicken to a cutting board to let cool and then cut into small pieces.

For the wraps:
3. In a small mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, scallions, chili peppers, and cilantro. Add salt and pepper to taste.
4. Lay out the tortillas on a work surface in front of you. Divide the cream cheese mixture among the tortillas, spreading it out in the middle of each tortilla. Divide the chicken among the tortillas, top with one slice of avocado and one slice of tomato. Tightly roll the tortilla in a cylinder ending with the seam side down.
5. Slice the wraps on the diagonal and serve.

Kim Cantergiani is a 2001 Body-for-LIFE Grand Champion living life in Texas as a Personal Trainer and owner of BodyWorks Fitness Studio. She is the single mother of six children (2 are now adults!), formerly weighed 191 lbs and wore a size 22 pants. In addition to her training career, Kim travels as a motivational speaker and is currently finalizing her book and offers the following words of guidance~

"I am constantly mesmerized by the tremendous impact of conscious planning and goal-setting in my life and the lives of others. During the BFL Challenge, I naively used many techniques without realizing I was doing so, and that experience has propelled me into a perpetual cycle of learning everything I can on the subject and attempting a variety of methods and strategies.

Without reservation I can say with 100% assuredness that every single individual who decides precisely what they want, makes an honest assessment of where they are currently, devises a reasonable plan to get there, and exhibits unwavering persistence and commitment to their desired outcome ALWAYS experiences not only the achievement of their goal, but witnesses miracles constantly throughout the process.

I say-
1. Write it down! Start with "I AM" statements, make them positive and as though they are in the present tense.
2. Read it often! Read it aloud-with emotion and conviction (whether you feel like it or not)!
3. Re-write it in your own handwriting as often as possible.
4. Plan appropriately!
5. Determine your obstacles and navigate around them!
6. Be willing to pay the price!
7. Visualize the attainment of your goal (what will it feel like, smell like, sound like, look like?)!

I tell my clients: I never said it would be easy-I only said it would be worth it!
